Moving Two New Blogs: Your Inner Expert and The Building Wealth Blog

I now have two different blogs that I attend to.  There will no longer be new posts put up here at The Wealth Manifesto blog.  The other two blogs are found at

Your Inner Expert - deals with the philosophical side of wealth and the personal mastery required to become wealthy.  I spend a lot time here helping readers to understand and identify what I have come to call Your Inner Expert, that resource each of us can bring to the party to create value and get what we want out of life (basically the same concept as Wealth Potential which I have talked about in this blog).

The Building Wealth Blog - discusses how to transform Your Inner Expert into income streams through businesses and investing.  This site in general is going to have a huge amount of resources to help with that purpos.

It is this collection of values, most of them reflecting our beliefs and those we grew up with, that we use to make decisions everyday about the tradeoffs in our lives. More work vs. less time with the kids, more exercise vs. less dessert, being honest vs. lying to get what you want etc. This is one function of our system of values. You will make choices between these kinds of things based on what is most important to you at a given time in your life. [Read more…]

It IS All About You …NOW

There was a show on PBS awhile ago called Connections. The creator (and narrator) of the show, a science historian by the name of James Burke discussed how various discoveries, scientific achievements, and historical world events built off one another in an interconnected way to bring about particular aspects of modern technology. I absolutely love this kind of stuff - seemingly disconnected facts and the synergy that binds them.

This brings me to today’s epiphany. Actually, it was yesterday but that’s OK.

I’m a big fan of Eckhart Tolle. He is now well known to many more millions of people because Oprah [Read more…]

Zen, Motorcycles, Mud and Quality

That should get someone’s attention. This is not one of those “MAN BITES DOG!” headlines … these things are actually very definitely connected….

Anyone that read books by Vonnegut and JD Salinger in High School back in the ’70s probably came across Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig. It is a semi-autobiographic, road trip, father-son bonding book about Pirsig and his son Chris. It’s is about Zen, some about motorcycle maintenance. And a good bit about Pirsig’s emotional and mental breakdowns that led him to spend part of the early ’60s in and out of mental institutions (with Electro Shock Therapy thrown in as well). But the book is really about is Quality.

Which is why I was assigned the book as a text for a Ceramics class. [Read more…]
